Decksy Privacy Policy

1. Scope of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Decksy for iPhone and Android, an application developed under the VimVika Labs brand. The Android version may use Google services and has specific privacy information available in its corresponding store listing or page.

Decksy is an independent and unofficial application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering, its card texts and images, symbols, and other related elements belong to their respective rights holders

.

2. Controller and Contact Information

The controller responsible for Decksy is the developer identified in the application's listing on the App Store and Android Store.

3. General Principles

The current version of Decksy for iPhone:

  • Does not require users to create an account.
  • Does not display advertising.
  • Does not use advertising tracking.
  • Does not integrate a third-party analytics SDK.
  • Does not operate its own server for user accounts or profiles.
  • Does not receive or store payment card details.

 

4. Information Stored Locally

Decksy may store the following information locally on the iPhone or Android device:

  • Card collections.
  • Decks created by the user.
  • Match and tournament history.
  • Preferences and settings.
  • Additional information associated with cards.
  • Temporary cache data and files.
  • Local state of certain interface features.
  • This information is used to provide the application's features and remains on the device. VimVika Labs does not maintain a remote account database for storing this content.

 

5. Camera, Photos, and OCR

Access to the camera is optional and is requested only when the user chooses to photograph a card.

Images captured or selected for card identification are processed on the device using Apple technologies, including Apple Vision OCR. Decksy does not send the original photograph to VimVika Labs servers or to Scryfall.

Decksy uses the iOS system photo picker and does not request general, unrestricted access to the photo library.

 

6. Scryfall and Card Data

To locate cards, printings, images, rules information, and approximate market prices, Decksy makes HTTPS requests to the public Scryfall API.

Depending on the feature being used, the request may contain:

Search terms entered by the user.

Card names obtained through OCR.

Scryfall identifiers.

Set codes, collector numbers, or other printing information.

As with any internet request, Scryfall may receive the IP address from which the connection is made and ordinary technical metadata necessary to respond to the request. Processing carried out by Scryfall is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.

Decksy also loads card images from domains used by Scryfall. VimVika Labs does not control the retention practices of these external services.

 

7. Apple Services, Purchases, and Subscriptions

Decksy PRO purchases and subscriptions on iPhone are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store, and for users with Android devices, by Google Play.

Apple and Google manage payment credentials and transaction processing. Decksy receives only the product information and verified purchase or subscription status required to determine whether PRO features should be active. VimVika Labs does not receive the user's full card number or banking credentials.

Decksy may query a public Apple service to check whether a newer version is available on the App Store. For this purpose, limited technical information may be sent, such as the application's public identifier and the store region. Apple may receive the ordinary connection metadata associated with that request.

 

8. Scope of Decksy PRO, Calculations, Estimates, and Third-Party Content

A Decksy PRO subscription provides temporary access, for the duration of the purchased subscription period, to software features developed by VimVika Labs. Depending on the version, these may include automated card and deck analysis, TIER and SCORE, metrics and probabilities, warnings and suggestions, aggregated estimates of the value of cards, decks, and collections, local export generation, and premium visual options. The current list of features and applicable conditions is displayed before the purchase is confirmed.

The price of Decksy PRO covers access to these software features, their maintenance, and their continued development. It does not constitute the sale of cards, images, artwork, rules text, names, symbols, trademarks, Scryfall data, or any other third-party content; nor does it transfer to the user or to VimVika Labs any ownership or exploitation rights over such materials. All third-party content remains the property of its respective rights holders and is displayed or referenced solely for the purpose of identifying, organizing, and analyzing cards and decks selected by the user.

TIER, SCORE, strategic analyses, probabilities, warnings, and suggestions are automated results produced by Decksy using its own rules, models, and calculations applied to the available data. They are provided for informational purposes, may contain errors, and do not constitute an official ranking, a tournament ruling, a guarantee of deck legality, a promise of performance, or professional advice. Users should verify official rules, banned-card lists, formats, errata, and current tournament requirements.

Individual card prices, when available, may come from Scryfall or other external sources. Decksy independently calculates sums and aggregations in order to estimate the value of cards, decks, or collections. These figures are approximate and may vary according to printing, language, condition, region, currency, source, liquidity, and the time at which the information is retrieved. They do not constitute an appraisal, an offer to buy or sell, financial, tax, or investment advice, and they do not guarantee the price of any actual transaction. Decksy does not buy, sell, broker, or hold cards.

Exported files are generated locally using Decksy structures and templates. They may include card names and other identifying or descriptive card information, quantities, approximate values, metrics, analysis results, and links required to represent the user's collection or deck. They do not include card images. Exporting does not grant permission to commercially reuse third-party content, and the user is responsible for the subsequent use and distribution of exported files.

The availability of certain features may depend on Apple and Android, Scryfall, or other external services. Decksy may adapt, replace, or remove references, data, or features where necessary to comply with the law, third-party rights, or the terms of the services used, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights.

 

9. Instagram Link

Decksy may display an optional link to Decksy's public Instagram profile. The application does not integrate a Meta SDK and does not sign users into Instagram.

Only when the user taps the link will iOS or Android open Instagram in the browser. From that point onward, Meta or Instagram may process information in accordance with their own terms and privacy policy.

 

10. Exports and Sharing

When the user exports a collection or deck, Decksy generates the requested file on the device. Available formats may include XLSX, CSV, TXT, Markdown, or JSON.

The file only leaves Decksy when the user voluntarily selects a destination through the iOS or Android sharing interface. The user decides with whom, which applications, or which services the file is shared and is responsible for its subsequent use.

 

11. Retention and Deletion

Local information remains on the device until:

The user deletes content using Decksy's controls.

iOS or Android deletes temporary cache data.

The user uninstalls the application.

When Decksy is deleted, iOS and Android will normally also delete the local data contained within the application's storage area. Copies previously exported to other destinations must be deleted from those destinations separately.

Because Decksy does not use user accounts or a remote user database, VimVika Labs normally cannot locate, retrieve, or delete from its systems any collection, decks, or history stored exclusively on the iPhone.

Messages voluntarily sent to the support email address may be retained for as long as necessary to respond, maintain a reasonable support record, or comply with legal obligations.

 

12. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

Local information is processed in order to provide the features requested by the user. Connections with Scryfall and Apple are necessary to provide card information, purchases, PRO entitlements, and version checks.

When the user chooses to open Instagram, share a file, or send an email, processing is initiated by the user's voluntary action.

Where European data protection law applies, these processing activities are based, as appropriate, on the performance of the requested service, the user's consent or voluntary action, the legitimate interest in maintaining the security and compatibility of the application, and compliance with legal obligations.

 

13. Security

Decksy uses the storage protections provided by iOS and Android and HTTPS connections for compatible network requests. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

Users should protect access to their devices and review the destinations selected when exporting information.

 

14. Children

Decksy is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or legal guardian may contact VimVika Labs regarding a privacy concern.

 

15. Rights and Requests

Depending on the user's place of residence, they may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, or data portability with respect to personal data held about them by a controller.

Most Decksy content is stored exclusively on the iPhone or Android device on which the application is installed. It must therefore be managed through the application or the device itself.

Users may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. In Spain, the supervisory authority is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).

 

16. Third-Party Services and International Transfers

Apple, Scryfall, Instagram/Meta, and applications selected by the user for sharing files operate in accordance with their own policies and may process data in countries other than the user's country. Decksy does not control their systems, retention periods, or international transfers.

Users are encouraged to review the policies of these services before using them.

 

17. Changes to this Policy

This policy may be updated when Decksy's features, the services used, or legal requirements change. The current version and its last-updated date will be published on this page.
